On behalf of the Research Team of the Kicking Sexual Harassment Out of Higher Education Institutions (KISH project) and theme “Ending sexual harassment in Higher Education Institutions is a responsibility for all” I welcome you all to the KISH system of prevention , reporting, supporting and managing sexual harassment within HEIs
The overall aim of the KISH project is to put in place and test a holistic system to prevent and respond to Sexual Harassment (SH) through student friendly innovations that address knowledge gaps, prevention and support to survivors of SH in Higher Education Institutions (HEIs).
KISH Objectives
- To build and enhance student’s knowledge and life skills for prevention and response to SH.
- To increase knowledge among staff on prevention and response strategies for SH
- To engage male students and staff to be active agents in ending sexual harassment in HEIs
- To establish a student friendly online system for reporting and responding to SH.
- Document and disseminate best practices for empowering students and staff to prevent and respond to SH.
- Online web based system for reporting, supporting and processing cases of sexual harassment (SH) in a confidential and safe space.
- KISH Student’s Clubs for capacity building in life skills and knowledge about prevention and reporting systems for SH for undergraduate female students. Each club is managed by a trained Coach.
- Online SH course covers and provides information on SH; policies and structures; sources of support and response mechanisms for staff and students.
- Men’s Hub provides space for male staff and students to hold dialogues on positive masculinity and agents of change as a strategy for addressing SH within in HEIs.
